A GREAT SUCCESS IN SICILY FOR THE SWS INTERNATIONAL E-FINALS
2026-06-19

The fourth edition of the SWS International E-Finals has just come to a close on a very positive note. In recreational karting, electric power is inexorably gaining ground year on year. The SWS perfectly reflects this trend by increasing the number of participants and, for the first time, including the Juniors in the major electric karting event in Italy.

In total, 138 drivers from around twenty countries competed in Sicily from 11th to 13th June 2026 at the Rush Speed Arena in Alcamo. The spectacular circuit, designed by Karting 360, comprises a 400m outdoor section and a 620m indoor section, featuring ascents and descents as well as banked corners, all of which can be used in both directions. The standard clockwise direction was used on the first day, the second day was dedicated to anti-clockwise racing, and the third day alternated between the two, with clockwise in the morning and anti-clockwise in the afternoon. The overall standard of racing proved to be very high, with the world’s top specialists selected from the 42 SWS electric tracks around the globe.

The entire Sodikart Group was present in Italy, featuring Sodi karts from the Rental range, Apex Timing, 360 Karting, ITAKA Shop via its retail outlet and, of course, the SWS team. The atmosphere was excellent in beautiful, very hot weather, with a great sense of camaraderie and constant interaction in the fan zone. The brand-new Sodi equipment, the RSX 2 for seniors and the LRX 2 for juniors, performed flawlessly throughout the week, whilst the entire team at the Rush Speed Arena rose to the occasion. Thanks to Apex Timing for the timing and WFR for the live stream on YouTube, the event enjoyed widespread international coverage.

Sics and Klonowski triumph in the youth categories
For the first time, 36 young drivers were selected to take part in the 2026 E-Finals. Divided into Junior and Kids categories according to their size, they fought fierce battles at the wheel of their Sodi LRX 2s, which were tuned to deliver top-class performance.

Polish one-two-three in the Kids category
Maks Klonowski (POL-Racing Centre Łódź) dominated the top spots in Qualifying and the races throughout the three days of competition and in all track directions. The overall winner of the event, he finished ahead of Jakub Kruszynski (POL-E1GoKart Gdańsk), a strong runner-up in the category. Szymon Gagacki (POL-GP Kart Bydgoszcz) took 3rd place ahead of Alessio Tignonsini (ITA-Space Game Vallecamonica) and Gustavs Narvaiss (LAT-Kartings.LV Indoor Karting).

Latvia, Estonia and Belgium on the Junior podium
Adams Sics (LAT-Kartings.LV Indoor Karting) capitalised on his consistent performance to win the Junior category ahead of Cameron Korkka (EST-Lange Motokeskus), the leader on day 2, and Emeric Dethy (BEL-Ardennes Karting), the winner on day 1. Also worth noting is the 7th-place finish of the only female competitor in the junior field, Sofia Gaborikova (SVK-Ekart Arena Nitra).

Poiré dominates the Sprint
102 drivers aged 15 and over competed in the Sprint class at the wheel of the powerful SODI RX 2 karts. Numerous close battles, sometimes decided by penalties, punctuated this ruthless competition. Victor Poiré (BEL-Karting des Fagnes Mariembourg) clearly dominated the category. Having secured pole position twice and led throughout the three days, he was challenged only by Wiktor Wota (POL-GP Kart Bydgoszcz) in the clockwise race. Consistently strong, Loan Vanton (BEL-Wavre Indoor Karting) took 3rd place on the podium ahead of Axel Saarniala (FIN-VM Karting Centre), who finished 2nd last year, and Elias Tellier (BEL-Area53) to round off the top five. Bella Valvo (USA-RPM Raceway – Stanford), the top-placed of the six female entrants, finished 45th.

A generous prize draw
The prize draw saw numerous prizes awarded, including ITAKAshop gift vouchers, Bell helmets and a Mak Design helmet cover.

Closing ceremony
Saturday evening’s event took place in a prestigious setting on the seafront at the Hotel la Battigia. Guests were comfortably seated by the pool to enjoy an excellent closing dinner. The 2025 SWS champions, Axel Saarniala (FIN) in the E-SPRINT category and Cameron Korkka (EST) in the E-JUNIOR category, were honoured first, before the trophies were presented to the winners of the 2026 E-Finals, who also received a generous prize haul. Victor Poiré, in particular, received a ticket from Rotax to take part in the EURO TROPHY E 20 in Genk or Trinec.

Finally, the 2027 SWS International E-Finals were announced to be held in Finland at the VM Karting Center, in the presence of its manager, Christian Gates, who also addressed the gathering.
